Glenstone's worship and music ministry exists to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ through corporate worship, music education, and creating opportunities for every member of the church to use their gifts in worship of our great God.
Corporate worship at Glenstone involves a blended music style, with praise and worship from great hymns of the faith, newer hymns, gospel music, and even some of the newest praise and worship music from the body of Christ. Our services make use of a Praise Team and contemporary instrumentation, as well as a worship choir.
Worship Music Ministry organizations at Glenstone currently include:
* The Chancel Choir - Open to both adults and students, this choir leads worship in our morning service, and presents musicals and special presentations at other times occasionally, to support the worship ministry. They rehearse at 7:40 PM for one hour each Wednesday night. They are directed by Worship Pastor Doug Watson.
* "Kingdom Kids" Children's Choir - For children grades 1-6, this graded choir presents musicals and special music, dramas, and includes the "Kingdom Kids" hand bells, to help children and the entire church grow in their worship. They rehearse at 5:45 PM for 45 min. on Wednesday nights. They are directed by Christina Millstead.
* Praise Teams - Open to both adults and students, this modern worship team includes vocalists and instruments. Presently there are two teams that rotate every two weeks, ministering in the morning worship service. They rehearse at 8:30 AM for one hour on Sunday mornings, and an optional rehearsal at 7 PM on Wednesdays. They are directed by Worship Pastor Doug Watson, but occasionally various team members will lead out on specific songs.
Dramatic presentations are part of our corporate worship and special presentations on a fairly regular basis. There are opportunities for both students and adults to be involved in various ways. Contact Worship Pastor Doug Watson if you have interest in this area of ministry.
The worship ministry also involves media and technology, and a team of volunteers under the leadership of our Worship Technology Associate Joe Gawel support the corporate worship of Glenstone with a presentation of excellence.
Solos, ensembles, choirs, instrumental participation, drama, technology, and a praise team and band ministry are all opportunities provided for those who want to serve in worship and praise at Glenstone Baptist!
